László TOTH paid a two-day visit to EJU Head Office in Vienna. In addition to an appearance at the IT and Judo TV Seminar, the EJU President was the guest of honour of Secretary General and Judo Austria President Martin POIGER at the Austrian Sports Awards on Thursday. “It was a huge experience, I enjoyed the evening very much,” Tóth emphasised. “It is a good sign that judo is represented at honours of this kind, proves the status of our sport. Last week, at the European Olympic Committees Congress, World and European Youth Champion Patricia TOMANKOVA (SVK) came third in the Best Young Athlete voting, Thursday night in Vienna her long-time rival Nina AUER was crowned Best Young Athlete in Austria.”

Poiger & Tóth also met with representatives of the Ministry of Sport, among others, to prepare the talks for the extension of the Head Office contract – which has been running since 2013, the current term ends in 2014. László Tóth: “The office in Vienna is the linchpin for us. The recent successes of Judo Austria are no coincidence, but a product of professional, consistent work.”
