Ukrainian team powerful at own European Cup

The Ukraine has won the European Cup for cadets in Kiev. Just like last year the home countries’ talents dominated the fourth European Cup of this season.
The Ukrainian team won 28 of 64 medals and seven gold medals among the collection. The other nine titles were distributed over Georgia and Serbia (2), Turkey, Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Poland and Lithuania all 1.
Georgia also won a lot of medals, but nine of them were bronze.
Four finals were between Ukrainian judoka. Only one time the Ukraine defeated Georgia, in the category +90kg where Fedor Panko defeated Zaza Gojiashvili (GEO).
Vano Churchkhelashvili from Georgia however was victorious over Sergiy Krivchach (UKR) and won the gold U73kg.

Last year the Ukraine won 8 gold medals and even 11 silver medals, 30 medals in total. All gold medallist hadn’t won a European Cup this season yet.

Turkish Rabia Senyayla was the youngest winner of the European Cup. She won the category U40kg at the age of 14. She had already won at the European Cup in Antalya.
Alexandr Logvinenko was able to win gold U81kg. In Zagreb he lost the final against Martin Matijass. This weekend he defeated Yuriy Asmolov for the gold medal.
