2023 will be an intense year for the Serbian Judo Federation. On the one hand, the EJU Congress with 51 member federations will take place in Belgrade at the beginning of December, and on the other hand, the Champions League for clubs will be held. These two events were also the main reason for the one-day- visit of EJU President Dr. László TOTH – together with SJF Federation President Ivan TODOROV – to the Minister of Sports Zoran GAJIC. In addition, the “Serbian educational path” was discussed as well. 11 professors, all of them former top judoka, are responsible for judo education at Serbian universities. Dr. László Tóth emphasised,
We quickly agreed that we will gradually intensify our cooperation with Serbia in the coming years. In a first step, we will provide the SJF with 500 junior judogi and 1,000 square meters of mat space. Subsequently, the EJU Coaching Academy will also make a stop in Serbia. We want to establish Serbia as a training base in the region.
