WORLD JUDO DAY - 'PLANT A TREE'

WORLD JUDO DAY - 'PLANT A TREE'

Today is the 28th of October, marking the birthday of Kano Jigoro, the founder of Judo. Coinciding with this important date is World Judo Day, an opportunity for the judo community to celebrate by becoming part of one of the annual projects set in place by the IJF.

This year the operation was named ‘Plant a tree’ and its sole purpose was to encourage awareness for the environment and with millions of practitioners around the world, is a brilliant wasy for us all to contribute.

In Koper, Slovenia, we held a Cadet European Cup over the weekend and are pleased to show just one of the many contributions of the EJU family. Two trees were planted to celebrate World Judo Day by Mr. Darko Music, President of the Slovenian Judo Federation, Mr. Metin Ozkan, EJU Referee Commissioner and Mr. Franz Ocko, EJU Referee Commissioner.

A huge thank you to all of those in the European Judo Union who have contributed to World Judo Day and our global community!
