Lasha Shavdatuashvili ends the year in style as #1 at IJF World Ranking

Georgian Lasha Shavdatuashvili is the new leader at the IJF World Ranking in his category U66kg. The Olympic Champion who is currently injured didn't fight since the Olympic Games but benefit from the 50% reduction of the points of previous events. Since this weekend he took over the position of Alim Gadanov (RUS) who won the Grand Prix in 2010 and 2011.

In the beginning of this year the World Ranking was led by Musa Mogushkov (RUS). In May this year Alim Gadanov took over the lead for a few weeks but Mogushkov regained his position quickly but lost it again to Gadanov in June. In July Khashbaatar Tsagaanbaatar (MGL) led the tally for two weeks. Gadanov was the number one two weeks later but lost it to Masashi Ebinuma after the Olympic Games but again regained his position until today.
